Frank Bungarten - Contemporary Guitar Works: Ponce, Jose & Castellnuovo-Tedesco

Frank Bungarten once received the higher orders of guitar playing from the great Andr�s Segovia himself. The sonata by Antonio Jos� is a genuine surprise. Discovered only shortly prior to the recording, this unusually extensive work adds an entirely new dimension to the guitar repertoire. Manuel Mar�a Ponce supplies Mexican flair. Although Ponce was trained in Berlin and Paris, the influence of Indian folklore is clearly audible.
