The Toccate e Corrente by Michelangelo Rossi (1601/2-1656) published in Rome in 1657 is characterised by an exuberant richness of ideas.Surprising twists and turns, further spiced by a bold use of chromaticism, pushes the limits of tonality. Lorenzo Feder plays the pieces on an exquisite instrument inspired by Bartolomeo Stefanini (1694).
