Chris Newman's music is the imitation of life in its manner of operation. Ultimately, his work is about his own life, not because of the many autobiographical details which appear in his songs and poems, but because of his unique way of viewing the world around him. This gives it an unmistakable personal style with transcends not only the stylistic differences of the material he uses, but also the medium he chooses to work in. Its humanity and trueness to life are immediately recognised by the sympathetic viewer, reader or listener.
