Bernard Rands, has over a hundred well-crafted scores of notable formal cohesion, dramatic intensity and lyrical beauty, one of his most important musical statements is rooted in the literature of �Canti del Sole (Songs of the Sun)�. Canti del Sole for tenor and orchestra describes a day�s progression from dawn to dusk through a continuous setting of fourteen poems about the sun. This release contains two other premi�re recordings Concerto for Piano and Orchestra and Music for Shoko: Aubade, dedicated to Bernard�s friend Shuoko Suzki.
