A selection of famous soprano arias from popular operas by Puccini (Tosca; Manon Lescaut), Verdi (The Force of Destiny), Wagner (Lohengrin), Beethoven (Fidelio), Giordano (Andrea ChEnier), Cilea (Adriana Lecouvreur) and Barber (Andromache's Farewell). The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with their conductor Grzegorz Nowak and soprano Katerina Mina celebrate the strong, determined and spiritual heroines of these well-loved operas � all linked by the universal themes of love and humanity. This disc also includes the world premi�re recording of two lyrical pieces by contemporary Swiss composer, Stephan Hodel ('Angel Of Fire' and 'Love').
