Faltskog/Ornstromer/Johnsson - Orgeltrio I Malm� S:t Andreas Kyrka

The organ trio is an exciting and unusual form of composition: the organ taking not only the role of piano but also of a full orchestra with all the colours and dynamic contrast that ensue. Rheinberger�s trio is an established work in the organ trio repertoire. Staffan Storm�s trio from 2012 is in five movements, each of which take inspiration from a Psalter Psalm. The work is written with the three musicians featured here in mind: they are colleagues at the Malm� Academy of Music and active members of the city�s cultural life. Their concerts featuring commissioned modern works combined with older classic works have been both stimulating and well received.
