Saraste/Wdr So - Johannes Brahms: Symphonies 1 - 4, Haydn Variations - Overtures

Jukka-Pekka Saraste is one of the outstanding conductors of his generation and is characterized by his extraordinary musical depth and integrity. Born in Heinola, Finland, he began his career as a violinist before studying conducting with Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. At the beginning of the 2010/2011 season Jukka-Pekka Saraste took over the position of chief conductor at the WDR Symphony Orchestra.
