Together with its predecessor K218, the here presented Viol in Concerto K219 in A major, written in December 1775, is Mozart's most mature work in that form. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his I ast concerto for string instruments, the Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E flat major K364, in Salzburg, in 1779 and 1780.
