Armonia Celeste - The Rebel Queen: Music from Christina's Swedish and Italian Courts

On January 24, 1656, barely a month after arriving in Rome, having abdicated the Swedish throne, the 30-year-old Queen Christina (1626-1689) convened an academy of artists, writers, and scholars at the Polazzo Farnese, her new residence in exile. This album features works performed under these auspices.
