This new CD by Trio Lezard presents the cabaret music of 1920s Paris.
In the 1920s, the Parisian music cabaret Le Boeuf sur le toit was a meeting place for artists, musicians and intellectuals. There was a great deal of musical openness here: whether tangos, chansons, jazz, swing or the more traditional classical music, everything was heard here on a completely equal footing.
The legendary clown trio Fratellini was one of the regular guests. Trio Lezard chose it as the name for this CD with different works from that time, which make the artistic atmosphere of departure in Paris tangible and present the sound diversity of the Trio d'anches.
After more than 25 years of concert activity in an unchanged line-up, the Trio Lezard can today be described as one of the leading trio d'anches' worldwide. The trio's trademarks are: virtuosity (Klassik.com), beauty of sound (FAZ) and perfect interplay (Fanfare). This was impressively confirmed when they won the ECHO Klassik in 2015. The Trio Lzard is the only wind trio ever to receive a recording prize. The three musicians, Stphane Egeling (oboe), Jan Creutz (clarinet) and Stefan Hoffmann (bassoon), who are also close friends in their private lives, are delighted anew at every concert when their audience storms the stage with enthusiasm at the end!
