Quartetto D'Archi La Fenice - Mozart: Quartet/ Quintet

This recording presents a rare performance with basset clarinet performed by the very prestigious Ensemble Quartetto d'Archi del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia. Mozart composed the Quintets for Anton Stadler, a mason who he met in the Masonic Lodge Zur Wohlt�tigkeit. The works, very popular today, are usually performed on the modern clarinet but evidence has shown they were originally composed for the basset clarinet.
