Dynamic are pleased to present the world premiere recording of Giovanni Legrenzi's oratory Il Sedecia. The libretto tells the story of Zedekiah, the last king of Judah, who reigned from 598 to 587 B.C. Since, as it is often the case, the score has no instrumental introductions or an epilogue, to open the two parts of the oratory and close the second, the present recording resorts to chamber sonatas taken from Legrenzi's first instrumental collection Sonate a due, e tre Op. 2.
