Raoul Steffani: The album you have here is the culmination of a long-cherished desire � a programme devoted to both Robert and Clara Schumann and the musical dialogue that blossomed between them during the early years of their married life, through their poems and song compositions. I am absolutely delighted and grateful for the opportunity to record this programme along with a selection of Robert Schumann's most beautiful duets, in a truly luxurious pairing with mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozena and my regular piano accompanist Gerold Huber.
