To mark the occasion of J�lia V�rady�s 80th birthday, Orfeo is releasing this historical recording of Verdi�s Messa da Requiem � an �opera in ecclesiastical robes�, as conductor Hans von B�low called it � captured at the Stiftskirche Herzogenburg in 1980. Appearing alongside her are Alexandrina Milcheva, Alberto Cupido, Nicola Ghiuselev, the ORF Choir and the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Leif Segerstam.
