Mikl�s Sp�nyi includes recordings of Bach's varied or embellished versions of Sonatas Nos. 2 and 3, which may represent the composer's revisions but could equally well have been intended as study material for his students.On the disc is also one of the composer's intriguing experiments - a re-composed version of Sonata No. 1, in which each movement has the same bass line and harmonic progressions as the original but is varied throughout in texture, rhythm and character.
