Chor Des Br/Schirmir - Weber:Silvana

CPO are releasing the first recording of the original version of Weber's heroic opera Silvana. The present recording relies on the materials that form the critical scholarly edition of the work; a unique edition in that it presents the raw version of the score, but includes the improvements made by Weber for the work's premiere in Frankfurt in 1810, that can also be heard on this release, performed by the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Muenchner Rundfunkorchester under the baton of Ulf Schirmer.
