Wolfgang Windgassen - The Hero of New Beyreuth

After World War II Bayreuth Festival went on to regain world fame - and the renewed form of the festival was associated with the heroic tenor Wolfgang Windgassen as much as it was with Wagner's grandsons Wieland and Wolfgang. Windgassen appeared in all of the operas staged in Bayreuth - and also appeared in the majority of these rolesin New York and Milan, London and Paris.
