Camerata Vocale Freiburg, Camerata Freiburg & Winfried Toll - Faur�: Requiem / Schumann: Mass In C Minor

Camerata Vocale Freiburg and its conductor Winfried Toll are well known for their unusual programmes, and the two sacred choral works featured here, Faur�'s ever popular Requiem and Schumann's Mass in C minor, are rarely coupled together.Although Schumann had planned to write a larger amount of religious music ever since his D�sseldorf days, he was only able to realise short chorale works, a Requiem and the Mass featured here. Gabriel Faur�'s Requiem occupies something of a special position among the requiems written by famous contemporaries like Berlioz and Verdi.
